The Split Croatia beaches serve as a great way to relax and unwind after you’ve finished investigating areas which were used in filming Game of Thrones. Here’s a few of the best.
Split Croatia Beaches – Judged On Their Own Merits
Sadly, there weren’t many beaches that were used as filming locations in Game of Thrones. The area of Split was used in such places like Diocletian’s Palace for Daenerys’ Throne Room and Klis Fortress, which is around half an hour out from the city centre. These beautiful beaches are pretty close to some iconic locations. Go check them out!
Bacvice Beach
The first beach that we’re looking at is Bacvice Beach. This is 5 minutes from the central bus station. It may not be the only beach in town which has sand, but it is the location which spawned the local game of “Picigin”. It’s a ball game in which the only objective is to stop the ball from landing in the ocean. It’s incredibly popular. Fun fact – this beach was also the first to be awarded the incredibly prestigious Blue Flag, which is for those areas with the highest quality of water.
Znjan Beach
Another excellent place to go and visit is Znjan beach. It’s located on the Eastern side of Split, and you can walk there quite easily. Alternatively, you can use bus lines 8 and 15 from the city centre from around £1 – £4. This beach is a family one. You’ll find that there’s a lot of activities for kids and young children, and places for the parents to lean back and relax too.
Kasuni Beach
Located in the westernmost area of the city, this beach offers you sunbeds, a beach bar and plenty of places to relax. It’s easy to get into the water, and there’s an emphasis on being safe for children as well as a beautiful place to be. There’s also a nudist area if you’re into that.
Bene Beach
The next location that we want to talk about is Bene Beach. It’s a lovely place which is accessible via bus route 12 for between £1 and £3 from in the town. This beach is one of the rare ones which has palm trees dotted around so that you can take full advantage of the sun but also stay cool at the same time. There’s also showers and a tennis court so you can enjoy yourself.
Kastelet Beach
The last beach that we’re going to cover is this one. It’s a 15 minute walk from the city centre, so you can stretch your legs, check out the local are and enjoy the beach all at the same time. It’s a much more classic area, and is good for swimming or working on a tan. You’ll find that there’s a lot to enjoy, and it’s not far from civilisation either, so it’s worth looking into if you’re in the area. Make sure that you’re armed with sunscreen!
